Balancing Basics: 3 Reasons You Should Add a Trenchcoat to your Wardrobe

Its Fall but the temps are still trying to catch up. But, I think it’s safe to say everyone is pretty much in the Fall mood. If you were to ask me what is the one piece that I should invest in this Fall season, I would say the trench coat without zero hesitation. It’s such a timeless piece that will last you for years to come. I’m sharing 3 reasons why you should add this guy to your wardrobe ASAP and have also linked a bunch of super cute ones below!

1.) The Trench coat Makes for Easy Layering- whatever you throw on for the day whether it’s an easy lightweight turtleneck and jeans like I’m wearing here or a fun maxi dress- the trench coat is that staple layering piece that will pull everything together and look effortlessly chic all at the same time. That’s always my goal and the trench coat makes it 10 times easier to do so.

2.) The Trench coat can Swing Any Way- you can dress this piece up and dress it down! I love that it can be styled a variety of ways. Casually like I’m wearing it here, or you could create a more dressed up monochromatic look with cream trousers, a cream tank and snakeskin boots. The style possibilities are endless.

3.) The Trench Coat comes in Versatile Styles & Silhouettes- I love when classic pieces are done in different iterations. There is obviously nothing like a classic trench but I love that this one I’m wearing has the these fun, detailed shoulders and I also love the tortoise detailing on the buttons and belt. There are so many ways to wear this style- long, short, camel colored, olive, leather…the options are endless and there is something for everyone.
